Youthful and idiosyncratic Louisa "Lou" Clark (Emilia Clarke) moves starting with one occupation then onto the next to help her family bring home the bacon. Her chipper state of mind is put under serious scrutiny when she turns into a parental figure for Will Traynor (Sam Claflin), a well off youthful financier left deadened from a mishap two years prior. Will's pessimistic standpoint begins to change when Louisa demonstrates to him that life merits living. As their bond develops, their lives and hearts change in ways neither one of the ones could have envisioned.
